The rapporteur of the European Parliament for Kosovo and the Prime Minister of Serbia “clashed” on social media regarding Kosovo.
Ana Brnabić expressed her disbelief regarding the elections held in the north of Kosovo.
“Truly unbelievable. You speak about democratic values? After organizing elections in containers, under the vigilance of the armed forces, recognizing the results coming from only 2% of the voters? You should be ashamed! The fact that you aren’t, is a problem in itself.”
The response from Viola von Cramon came later. She said that the tones used by Serbia, means that the country is not interested in its European perspective.
“If the Prime Minister speaks in such rhetoric, makes such attacks, behaves in an uncivilized way towards members of the European Parliament, this means a lot. It doesn’t give the impression that they want to collaborate with us. I cannot understand what strategy lies behind this, if there is enough willpower in Serbia to continue with the integration and the European perspective, or if the goal is to create clashes and be arrogant? Maybe this is a sign that Serbia is simply not interested in its European perspective,” writes the EP rapporteur in her answer to the Serbian Prime Minister.
