In 2022, in Albania, the number of murders and thefts is lower than in 2021. Statistics show that the total number of criminal offenses was 5% lower.

Criminal offenses in 2022 are fewer in number compared to 2021. In the report published by INSTAT, the figures show that last year, the number of crimes is 33,480, from 35,210 that were recorded in the previous year.

The number of perpetrators of criminal offenses, including those who were suspected, was 38,200, of which 94% were men.

On the other hand, the number of injured people was 13,600 and 40% were female. The latter have fallen prey to sexual crimes, domestic violence and crimes against morality.

The General Prosecutor’s Office has prosecuted 25,708 individuals.

According to the data, the age group most prone to criminal offenses is between 30 and 44 years old, but the 18-29 age group is part of it.

In 2022, 42 intentional homicides were recorded, out of 61 that occurred in 2021.
