State institutions will not be allowed to republish on official addresses on social networks posts of ministers related to the electoral campaign.
This decision of the CEC came after the Albanian committee of Helsinki denounced the election meetings of the Minister of Education Evis Kushi that were shared by the schools’ Facebook pages.
The State Commissioner of Elections, Ilirjan Celibashi requested the prohibition of the reposting from the official pages of all public institutions of the activities that are reflected in the personal profiles of ministers and other leaders of public institutions during the electoral campaign for the local elections of May 14.
The head of the CEC considered reposting on the official pages of public institutions an administrative violation of the Electoral Code and ordered their ban.
The decision of the chief commissioner came after a denunciation by the Albanian committee of Helsinki, which was related to an e-mail from the local office of pre-university education Korçë-Pustec addressed to school principals, where it was requested to fill in an excel table with data for pages on social networks.
In this e-mail, the Albanian Committee of Helsinki said that the schools are required to repost the profile of the Minister of Education, Evis Kushi.
