Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama was present in Korça this Tuesday, in the presentation of the new project for the “Skënderbeu” stadium. Rama thanked all architects who participated in the project and revealed the government’s plans on promoting tourism even through sports.

“After the local elections we will need a better coordination and stronger collaboration. Financing is not an issue, but we need coordination with the local institutions. This is very important to our sports project for children. We have a great potential for development and progress if we come together with the Football Federation. We aim to transform sports and football, in a means to attract more tourists, offering infrastructure and logistics so that foreign teams can come and train in Albania. Korça could be the first in this new path, to offer possibilities for European teams to have preparatory stages here. It would be an added economic and financial value. We asked all participating architects to look beyond green fields and stadium benches,” Rama declared.
