The first instance court of Pogradec is officially closed. All files that are in process for trial and amount to 600 will be transferred for trial to the Court of First Instance Korça.

According to lawyer Endri Çela, this closure has increased the costs of citizens for several weeks now, and on the other hand, 20 lawyers in Pogradec are thinking of moving from this city.

“This will lead to increased costs and postponement of deadlines, so the time when a trial will end will be extended compared to before due to the overloading of the courts with new files. The reason why the costs will increase is the removal of the court, the lawyer’s fee will increase, but even those citizens who want to closely follow the court session will have to pay more than before,” he said.

The closure of this court of Pogradec happened as a result of the new judicial map, which in the Korçë district has closed the appeal court and the civil court. Together with the court of Pogradec, the prosecution as well as the probation service are merged.
