US Ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim welcomed a group of journalists and media related organizations, to mark the World Press Freedom Day.

The ambassador said that free and independent media is of key importance to democracy and called for journalists to always ask the hard questions.

“I hope you never underestimate the importance of what you are doing. I hope you will continue doing it,” ambassador Kim told journalists during the meeting.

The participants discussed challenges they face, including lack of access to information, job insecurity and lack of financial transparency from public institutions and media organizations.
