Almost 50% of children in Albania have problems with their teeth. Dentists refer that low care for oral hygiene and the consumption of sugary products has influenced the decay of children’s teeth.

In order to minimize problems with teeth, in some regions of the country, dental cabinets have started operating in schools and 2 clinics have also been made available to rural areas.

Adults also have dental problems. Since the dental service has a relatively high cost in private clinics, some services are provided free of charge at the University Dental Clinic.

According to the World Health Organization, the constant lack of dental care has led to the loss of teeth in 34% of the population over 60 years of age.
