Jurist Kreshnik Spahiu warned that there will be two sensational arrests after the local elections in Albania.

Speaking to Euronews Albania, Spahiu said that one of the arrested will be Prime Minister Rama’s right hand, and the other arrested will be from the opposition.

On the other hand, Spahiu is quite sure that former prime minister Sali Berisha will not be arrested.

“It is expected that the Special Anti-Corruption Structure will make two sensational arrests, a high level socialist and a high-level opposition. Both files and criminal proceedings are ready but have been hindered due to the electoral campaign. I have my doubts that it is influenced by Edi Rama. What you will notice is that Sali Berisha won’t be the one arrested. He has guarantees from Rama that he will be his rival in 2025, because that’s in his best interest. It’s part of their deal. The other two individuals are of very high level. One of them is Rama’s right hand and the other, Berisha’s right hand,” said Spahiu.

He also warned that one day after the elections, a new opposition will rise in Albania. According to him, this opposition will prepare to finally remove Edi Rama and Sali Berisha from the political scene.

“The new opposition will be the next surprise after three decades, which will prepare the removal of both these individuals for the 2025 elections,” Spahiu concluded.
