The Minister of the Interior, Bledi Çuçi, welcomed in a meeting, on his first visit to Albania, the head of INTERPOL, Jürgen Stock.
This meeting coincides with the 100th anniversary of the establishment of this important organization of international police cooperation.
“I shared with him Albania’s main priorities in the fight against organized crime, which is increasingly taking on transnational forms and from this context a better coordination of work between all countries is the right way to address this problem”, says Çuçi.
Further, during the meeting, the Minister of the Interior emphasized that today the State Police has a high level of trust in our partners and is currently in a new phase of cooperation with this organization and with other international agencies, being an active participant and with a leading role in some cases in Joint Investigative and Operational Teams. Çuçi also spoke about the modernization of the State Police.
“I also introduced the head of INTERPOL to the steps we have started to take for the modernization of the State Police through investments like never before in technology and digital equipment. We greatly appreciate the cooperation with INTERPOL for other global security challenges such as terrorism and cybercrime”, said Minister Çuçi, among other things.
