Two new parks for the production of electricity will be built in Lushnja and Orikum. The first will be a photovoltaic park, a space with solar panels with a capacity of 10 MW, and it was approved to be built in the village of Allprenaj. Meanwhile, wind will be used for the second investment, as a wind park with a capacity of 3 MW is to be set up in the area of Tragjas in Orikum.

The government has selected “5GX Energy” and “Renew Power Albania”, after open competitions, and now the deadline for putting the two plants into operation is 3 years, while the operating period of the companies will be 49 years.

Both companies have the obligation to submit contract insurance, in the amount of not less than 5% of the investment value. They must also give to the Ministry of Infrastructure, 2% of the annual amount of electricity production or its conversion into monetary value, all free of charge.

Albania produces 50 thousand megawatts of electricity per year through photovoltaic parks, or 1% of the total energy. Meanwhile, it is expanding investments to increase capacities for the use of the sun and wind.
