The Socialist Party candidate for the Municipality of Has, Beqir Mulaj, had his car burned inside his garage.
Speaking to Euronews Albania, Mulaj recounted the incident. He did not say if the act is related to the political campaign for the May 14th local elections.
“It happened around midnight. I was called on the phone and went to the scene. I saw the car burning. The police and firemen came immediately to put the fire out. Expertise related to the incident is being conducted. There have been tensions during the campaign with the rival candidate, but I cannot connect them to the incident. The vehicle had been parked there for three years. The area where the car was parked is a warehouse,” said Mulaj.
