The leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta also commented on the arrest of the mayoral candidate, Fredi Beleri.

Writing on his social media, Meta called on citizens of Himara to give their all in this campaign and deliver the final blow to PM Edi Rama.

“Involvement, involvement and only involvement! This is the medicine against a Prime Minister and a regime that is dying and is terrified of the free vote. The Special Anti-Corruption Structure is not taking action against Mayors who violate the law and are proved guilty, but kidnap our candidate for the Municipality of Himara in a mafia way, after premeditated and staged attacks of a delinquent Prime Minister. All citizens and opposition structures in Himara should be up, to make the most out of the campaign, intensify contacts with voters for massive participation and to give the final blow to the Prime Minister, who is the biggest thief and destroyer of the property in Himara and all the Southern Coast, from Vlora to Ksamil, all for mafia purposes,” wrote Meta on his Facebook page.
