Albania has had an increase in the number of tourists by 54% in the first three months of this year compared to 2019, becoming the third country in the world.
Based on the data published by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Qatar and Saudi Arabia are ranked first.
International tourist inflows reached 80% of pre-pandemic levels in the first quarter of 2023.
About 235 million tourists traveled internationally in the first three months, doubled from the same period in 2022. However, the recovery of tourism also faces some challenges, writes KosovaPress.
Due to the long coastline, Albania offers several beaches, from north to south, such as in Velipojë in Shkodra, in Shengjin in Lezhë, in Durres, Vlora, Himarë, Saranda, etc., these beaches are frequented not only by Albanians, but also by foreign citizens, who choose Albania as a tourist destination during the summer months. Also, Gjirokastra, Berati, Butrinti, Kruja, Tirana, Shkodra, etc., are popular destinations for historical and cultural tourism.
