Mayoral candidate of the “Together” Movement for the municipality of Tirana, Arlind Qori denounced an incident with municipal police officers.

He told Euronews Albania that a group of police officers came to their headquarters and asked for the removal of election materials from the walls of their offices.

According to Qori, police left after a phone call, although he did not specify from whom.

“A group of municipal police officers came to remove election materials from the walls of our offices, claiming that it was ordered by the Central Election Committee. Then came the State Police officers. For about an hour, they wanted us to take down our election materials. The Appeals and Sanctions Commission (ASC) has allowed us to keep these materials in the walls of our offices. The officers took a lot of time to be convinced, even though we showed them the ASC ruling. This is scandalous to me. They came on basis of a phone call and just like that they left. They had no care for the law,” denounced Qori.
