Counting process underway in Albanian local elections, SP in the lead

Counting process is underway in the Albanian local elections, with the Socialist Party candidates mostly in the lead.

In Tirana, SP candidate and current mayor, Erion Veliaj is in the lead against opposition candidate Belind Këlliçi, even though there are a lot of ballots still waiting to be counted.

In Durrës as well, SP candidate and current mayor, Emiriana Sako leads the race against opponent Igli Cara.

The first ballots have been counted in Shkodra as well, showing an advantage of the SP candidate, Benet Beci against his opposition opponent, Bardh Spahia.

Ervin Demo in Berat leads the race against his opposition opponent, Zija Ismaili.

The first few ballots counted in Fier give an advantage to SP candidate, Armando Subashi against opponents Evdar Kodheli from the “Together We Win” coalition and Eriselda Zotaj from the Democratic Party.

In Kukës, current mayor from the SP, Safet Gjici is in the lead against Admir Sinamati from “Together We Win” coalition.

Even in Kolonja, SP’s candidate and current mayor is on his road to being reconfirmed, as he leads the race against his opponent, Ethem Lumani.

Himara, another interesting municipality to observe in these elections, shows SP’s candidate, Jorgo Goro being in the lead against opponent Fredi Beleri, who will have to learn of the result behind bars.
