The head of the Democratic Party, Enkeled Alibeaj, decided to resign from the leadership of the DP.
In a communication to the media, Alibeaj said that each of the structures of the Democratic Party must bear their responsibility for the elections of May 14, so he decided to leave the post of leader of the Democratic Party.
“We must analyze the effects of the split of the Democratic Party on the outcome of the elections. We must properly evaluate the work done by the party structures, everyone’s commitment, everyone’s contribution, to understand what went wrong and what went right.
As a sign of reflection and responsibility, I have decided to leave the leadership of the Democratic Party and also from the leadership position in the parliamentary group.
The Democratic Party must be reorganized, based on democratic principles, as I repeatedly emphasized during the electoral campaign. The party must have new rules, new principles, to separate from the ‘Berisha’s’ past and to build an alliance with potential for 2025.
We need to understand how to talk not only to the democrats, but also to those citizens disappointed by the politics of 30 years, those who make up the silent majority in the country”, said Enkelejd Alibeaj.
