The government of Montenegro announced that the landing of NATO tools and equipment has begun in the Port of Bar.

The activity is part of the logistical support for “Defender Europe 23”, where the unloaded vehicles and equipment will pass through the territory of Montenegro to other participating countries in the exercise, without much delay.

“It is gratifying to see that our soldiers have achieved a good level of interaction and provided the necessary support to the allied forces. I am glad to hear our allies from the US express their appreciation for our hospitality and capabilities developed so far,” said the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Defense of Montenegro, Krsto Perović.

They are part of the “Defender Europe 23” military exercise, which will take place in several countries of the region.

“Defender Europe 23” is led by the United States and this year it will bring together over 25,000 soldiers from NATO and its allies.

The goal of this military exercise is to build readiness and interoperability between participants, through practicing a quick and joint response to possible crisis in the Eastern Europe area.

Members of the armed forces will also participate in similar exercises in Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Croatia.

Landing and transporting of NATO equipment through Montenegro will continue throughout this week.
