The protest called by the Youth Forum of the “Together We Win” coalition in Kamza was held this Thursday in the premises of the Central Election Commission, in relation to their allegations of manipulations in the local elections.
The coalition’s candidate, Arjan Hoxha called the electronic voting in Kamza “an electoral massacre”, where the result was predetermined in computer systems.
“The vote of the people was not read, rather the computer date prepared in the machines that did the identification. This is a public declaration initiated by the Youth Forum of the Democratic Party and I want to thank them for the support throughout the electoral campaign. Today, there is a dramatic situation in Kamza, a disappointing and unbearable state in the social aspect, because no one can believe what happened. There is no statistic or electoral logic behind this unprecedented result, which cannot be justified, not from our expectations or that of the opponent. We will deposit our complaints in the Complaints and Sanctions Commission and the Electoral College, where we will ask for a foreign experts’ task force to judge this unpiloted system,” declared Hoxha.
Socialist Party candidate, Rakip Suli ranked first in the race for Kamza, considered a traditional democrat stronghold.
Socialists had never won the municipality through a direct race, until the May 14th elections. Kamza was one of the few municipalities to test electronic voting and counting in these elections, and the result was declared only a few hours after the voting ended.
