Seven members of the Albanian community in Greece will participate in the general elections expected to be held this Sunday.
Fatos Malaj, who is a PASOK candidate, spoke to Euronews Albania on how the Albanians candidacy was received by most of the Greek citizens.
He says that Albanian immigrants are fully integrated in the Greek society and it’s time they be part of political decision-making.
“Majority of the population had a positive reaction towards the candidacy of Albanians in the Greek elections. Right now, Albanian immigrants are integrated in the society and are not discriminated like before. Every beginning is difficult and even Greeks faced problems when they immigrated, but now they are some of the strongest lobes in the United States, Australia or European countries. Now it’s time for Albanian immigrants, after so many years in Greece, especially the second generation that were born here and will be the future, to make decisions in politics and other relevant fields of the Greek society,” Malaj told Euronews Albania.
