Begaj at the swearing-in ceremony: We are countries that contribute to peace

President Bajram Begaj participated today in the swearing-in ceremonies of the new President of Montenegro, Mr. Jakov Milatovic, President of a neighboring and friendly country with which Albania shares interests and a common Euro-Atlantic vision.

In the greeting and congratulations for the new President Milatovic, Begaj underlined the very good relations that exist between the two countries. The Head of State expressed his belief that these relations will be strengthened and expanded even more during the presidential term of President Milatovic.

“As two allied countries in NATO and in the negotiation process for accession to the European Union, our two countries are active contributors to peace and security in our region, but not only,” he said.

In particular, the Head of State appreciated the important role played by the Albanian factor in Montenegro, for stability, independence and the Euro-Atlantic future, and expressed the belief that this community will continue to have the attention and support of President Milatovic and Montenegrin institutions.

During the one-day visit to Montenegro, Begaj made a stop in the city of Tuzi, where he met with representatives of the Albanian factor in Montenegro. The President assured them of the unwavering attention and support of the Albanian institutions for all issues and concerns faced by the Albanian minority in Montenegro.

In particular, the Head of State appreciated in this meeting the very constructive role that the Albanians and the Albanian political forces in Montenegro have played, both for stability and within the country’s Euro-Atlantic processes.
