Salary increase for Albanian MPs approved by majority, here are those who voted against

In the plenary session of this Thursday, the draft law was approved for increasing the salaries of the administration, deputies and ministers.

99 deputies participated in the vote, 97 of whom voted in favor and 2 against.

It is learned that the MPs who voted against are opposition MPs Bujar Leskaj and Gëzim Ademaj. That’s why Prime Minister Rama and former Prime Minister Berisha did not participate in the vote. Also, from the government cabinet, the two ministers Olta Xhaçka and Ogerta Manastirliu were not present during the voting.

The draft law contains an increase in the salaries of the administration and independent institutions at the level of 20-60%. According to the proposal, the salary of MPs will be doubled from 156,770 Lek to 310,250 Lek, while that of ministers will be doubled from 174,760 Lek to 318,750 Lek, gross. The salary of the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the Assembly increased to almost 400,000 Lek, gross, from 228,000 Lek, which is today.
