President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has resigned from the position of the chairman of his party.
During the speech he gave to thousands of his supporters at the rally held on Friday in Belgrade.
Vučić said he was speaking for the last time as chairman of the Serbian Progressive Party, SNS.
“For eleven years, I served my country and people with faith and loyalty. I was the chairman of the Serbian Progressive Party for eleven years.
Tomorrow, someone else will take over my Serbian Progressive Party, yours, ours,” said Vucic.
He said that “some wonderful people” will take over the party from Saturday and that from June 28 they will start forming the Movement for the People and the State.
