The desire of many girls to improve their appearance through cosmetic interventions is becoming a trend.
Tempted by lower prices, they often choose to receive these services at unlicensed salons or facilities.
Dermatologists, however, raise concerns that these establishments often use unregistered products.
“The aesthetic market has gone off track. Laser treatments or injections are medical procedures and should be performed by a doctor. Every aesthetic center should have a licensed doctor for these services. Meanwhile, it is unknown what substances they inject into the body,” dermatologist Brunilda Bardhi tells Euronews Albania.
Dermatology clinics often receive girls seeking help after experiencing facial damage.
“We have many cases where they come to repair damages they have suffered. Aesthetic medicine should only be offered by professionals,” says dermatologist Monika Fida to Euronews Albania.
The application of different techniques, often by non-professionals, has been discussed during the second congress of the Dermatology and Cosmetics Society, which gathered professionals from around the world in the capital, Tirana.
