Tourist season has just started, so citizens in our country are rushing to book their vacations.
The latest data show that Albanians spend 405 euros each for vacations of more than 4 nights abroad. The European Union average is 900 euros.
“They started in March, most of them are customers from Europe who book in advance, Albanians living in Europe. Albanians have started to go to Turkey and Greece”, says Fjorida Zani, tour operator.
Eurostat in the 2020 data shows that Albania is ranked fourth from the bottom, as one of the countries where citizens spend less on holidays.
“They start from 400 euros and up to higher amounts. But the average is 500-700 euros for 6 nights and 7 days”, says the operator.
This new tourist season, the increase in prices has affected bookings. Citizens have made some compromises.
“Prices are up 35% worldwide. Reservations are fewer, Albanians decide last and it is difficult to find those prices that we talked about in advance… It depends on the number of days, in general they have reduced the number of days to have the holidays that they have been doing for years”, says Zani.
Turkey and Greece are two most sought after destinations. This is also due to the fact that they offer “all inclusive” packages, all included in the price.
