Albanian Government decides to scrap Transparency Board on fuels

After the government meeting, Minister Delina Ibrahimaj emphasized in a communication that today the decision was made to abolish hydrocarbons board.

“Based on the stabilization of prices, today we took the decision to abolish the hydrocarbons board”, she said.

On March 18, government proposed the establishment of Transparency Board for basic prices. This board has the task of monitoring production costs for all merchants, setting and maintaining prices, monitoring entities in order to avoid cases of abuse for some specific products in the basket that have the greatest weight in the consumption of families with low incomes, low as for rice, flour, milk, oil, sugar.

Traders who will not keep the price set by the board, will lose the right to trade, as well as the goods they have available will be confiscated.
