Intoxications as a result of high alcohol consumption and sometimes the use of narcotics have become the main emergencies in the summer season. The director of the national emergency, Skënder Brataj, says that this happens in cases of mass events in beach areas.

“Unfortunately young people use substances or alcohol and these are some of the new emergencies that have come to us. The main point remains the traumas, because the number of not only tourists, but especially vehicles is increasing”, – Skënder Brataj, director of the national emergency.

To cope with all medical emergencies, and ensure a calm season, 30 health centers will be opened along the coast but also in the mountain tourist spots.

“In addition to increasing the number of health centers, 30 health centers have also been trained and brought in 58 automatic defibrillators, which will guarantee the coverage of health centers and a part of the city where there is a large influx”, – Skënder Brataj, director of the national emergency

The innovation in the emergency service is also the introduction of auto-medicine in the capital.

“The introduction of a new ambulance such as an ambulance or a medical vehicle, which has smaller dimensions, is easy to move in traffic, is the medical staff with all the equipment that an ambulance has, and has an advantage besides the arrival of the immediate release of the medical team is quick”, – Skënder Brataj, director of the national emergency.

The national emergency will also have a mobile command center which serves to command from the scene in case of major events such as floods, earthquakes or multi-car accidents.
