A 38-year-old with the initials A.N. declared international wanted for armed robbery and wounding, was caught this Tuesday in Shkodër as part of the “Xhabija” operation.

According to information, he was declared wanted by the Court of Trieste, Italy and is expected to be extradited soon.

“Following the work for the capture of the citizens declared internationally wanted, as a result of the cooperation and exchange of information between DVP Shkodër and Interpol Tirana, the police operation coded “Xhabija” was organized for the capture of the citizen declared internationally wanted.

During the operation, the services of the Special Force “Shqiponja” of the Shkodër Local Police Directorate, in the “Xhabije” neighborhood, Shkodër, captured and arrested with the intention of extradition to Italy, the citizen:

– A. N., 38 years old, resident of Velipoja, Shkodër.

This citizen was declared internationally wanted, after the Court of Trieste, Italy, on 08.05.2023, issued an arrest warrant for the criminal offenses “Robbery with a weapon” and “Wounding”, provided by the Italian Criminal Code.

Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with Interpol Rome, is following the procedures for the extradition of this citizen to Italy”, – it is stated in the police announcement.
