A young student has fired a firearm at an elementary school in Lukavac near Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, confirmed the mayor of Lukavac, Edin Delić.

Delić has informed that there are injured individuals.

“There are no children among them, so I urge parents not to panic. The perpetrator is a young child and has been immediately arrested. A difficult day,” Delić said on Facebook.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs informed that the shooting at the school was reported around 9:00 am.

“The injured individuals from the morning shooting at the elementary school in the city of Lukavac have been transported to the University Clinical Center in Tuzla,” the ministry said.

The University Clinical Center in Tuzla has announced that a patient has been admitted there due to a gunshot wound to the neck.

“The patient has been intubated, and the surgery is ongoing,” the hospital stated.
