Serbia has not harmonized with the decision of the European Union (EU) regarding the sanctions against Iran, it is confirmed in the statement of the high representative of the EU for foreign policy and common security, Josep Borrell.
It is about restrictive measures since 2011, directed against certain persons and entities, given the situation in Iran. In May of this year, the EU added five people and two entities to the list of those subject to these restrictive measures.
On the other hand, Serbia welcomed the EU’s decision to change the decision regarding restrictive measures, taking into account the situation in Syria. It is about changes in the package of sanctions against Syria, which refer to the expansion of the list of persons and entities subject to sanctions or the extension of some sanctions.
All candidate countries from the Western Balkans have respected the decisions on restrictive measures against Iran and Syria. The countries that are part of the common economic space, as well as Ukraine and Moldova, have been harmonized with these measures.
