President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, reacted after the attacks on the country’s journalists in Leposavic. Osmani has called on all allied countries to condemn the attack on journalists who are in the north today.
Osmani wrote on Twitter that efforts to destabilize Kosovo will fail.
“Journalists in the north of the country were again brutally attacked by criminal gangs. Those who carry out these attacks must face justice. Their efforts to destabilize Kosovo will fail. These horrific acts of continued violence must be condemned by all. The rule of law will prevail”, Osmani wrote on Twitter.
Attacks on journalists have also been condemned by political parties in the country.
The Democratic League of Kosovo strongly condemns the attacks of criminal groups against journalists in the north who were performing their duty to inform and reflect the real situation.
“Continuous and violent and unprovoked attacks are criminal offenses and have no place in democratic states, therefore they must be punished, while the perpetrators of such attacks must be brought to justice,” the announcement states.
Democratic League of Kosovo invites the security bodies to protect journalists with special protocols in areas of tension. He also once again calls on the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo to take appropriate actions to avoid further destabilization of the situation.
