De-escalating of situation in Kosovo, Lajcak meets senior officials in Washington

EU’s Special Envoy for the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Miroslav Lajçak, is conducting an official visit to Washington, within the framework of the normalization of tensions in the north of Kosovo.

Through a post on Twitter, Lajcak informs that he has held meetings with the First Deputy National Security Advisor of the USA, John Feiner and the Senior Director for Europe Amanda Slott, where the necessary steps to stop the de-escalation of the situation in Kosovo. Lajçak also emphasizes that once measures are taken to prevent the de-escalation of tensions, the progress of the dialogue between the two countries, mediated by the EU, will continue.

“A very useful meeting with US First Deputy National Security Advisor John Feiner and Senior Director for Europe Amanda Slott on the situation in northern Kosovo, the necessary steps for de-escalation and progress in the EU-backed dialogue “, writes Lajçak on social networks.
