Albanian lawyer attempts historical record, swims from Italy to Albania

Albanian athlete Eva Buzo, a 35-year-old who lives in Australia, has set out to break a historical record in swimming.

Since 7 o’clock in the morning this Thursday, she has left Italy by swimming to cross the channel of Otranto and then arrive in Albania.

The 35-year-old’s journey is estimated to last between 35 and 40 hours. She will be accompanied during the crossing of the Otranto canal by her two kayak coaches, as well as by a boat equipped with logistical assistance.

Buzo is a lawyer by profession in Australia and is also engaged in civil society in defense of human rights. She has working experiences in East Africa, South Asia and Australia, for various organizations including World Vision and Save the Children.

Regarding the launch of the challenge by the 35-year-old Albanian, Prime Minister Rama also reacted, who shared a video from her journey, where he wishes her success.
