Albania has now a champion who stands at the top of Europe, and that is Luiza Gega.

She has claimed another victory in the European Athletics Championship being held in Poland.

The 34-year-old has excelled in the 3,000-meter steeplechase race, securing the first place and setting a record time of 9 minutes and 17 seconds.

Gega’s record has not gone unnoticed by the highest authorities in European athletics, who recognized the consecutive performances of the Albanian athlete, who is currently at the top of Europe.

Gega has equaled the records of Ivet Lalova-Collio from Bulgaria, who counts 11 victories and 2 second places in European competitions and is regarded as the most successful athlete in Europe.

A few days ago, Gega also won the 5,000-meter race, and today was crucial for the “red and black” athlete, who triumphed in her discipline, the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Albania has been benefiting from consecutive medals in recent months, all in the possession of Gega, who, despite the difficulties and challenges, has managed to proudly raise the Albanian flag.
