Deputy the General Director of the State Police, Sokol Bizhga issued a statement to the media to report the measures taken to guarantee security during the tourist season.
In all tourist spots, museum areas, coastal areas, urban and rural areas, as well as at border crossing points, 1,700 employees of the Traffic Police, general patrols, Special Force “Eagle”, Criminal Police, community policing, Border Police, Alpine Police, Rapid Intervention Units and RENEA Special Department, to help foreign tourists, also performing search and rescue operations, Bizhga said.
He added that effective measures have also been taken at the border crossing points, to offer tourists, visitors and citizens, quality service and to eliminate long queues. These measures were taken in cooperation with the counterparts of Greece, North Macedonia, Kosovo and Montenegro.
Among other things, during the conference he talked about the seizure of vessels operating in violation of the law. Measures have also been taken to crack down on border crimes, at border crossing points, on the green border and in the maritime space.
“Taking into account that during the summer season, in the direction of our country, there is an influx of vacationers from all over the world, the State Police has drawn up a detailed plan with additional measures, in order to create and guarantee the best possible security conditions, for Albanian and foreign citizens, in tourist areas, for the entire period of the summer tourist season, at border crossing points and on the main road axes, for the normal circulation of vehicles, for the prevention of criminality in residential areas, for the implementation of the music ban schedule, as well as for noise management in urban centers and tourist areas,” Bizhga said.
