A 23-year-old man, who was declared internationally wanted by Italy, was arrested today in Pukë.

The police inform that within the coded police operation “Verdikti”, the citizen S.M. has been arrested, as he is accused of organizing illegal immigration within a criminal group.

It is learned that the young man will be extradited to Italy.

As a result of research supported by police intelligence, for the localization, capture and arrest with the purpose of extradition, of citizens wanted internationally for various criminal offenses, the specialists for the Investigation of Crimes of Pukë Police Station, thanks to the cooperation with FAST Albanian and Interpol Tirana, have organized and finalized the coded police operation “Verdikti”, within which, the citizen S. M., 23 years old, resident in the village of Blerim, Fushë Arrëz, was located and provisionally arrested.

The 23-year-old was declared an international wanted man, because the Court of Trieste, Italy, has issued an arrest warrant for him, for the criminal offenses of “Illegal Immigration” and “Participation in a criminal group”, provided by the Italian Criminal Code.
