The President of the European Commission, Ursula Von der Leyen, posted a photo with Prime Minister Edi Rama on Twitter, where she announced the topic of the discussion.
She said that in addition to Albania’s progress on the EU membership path, they also discussed a plan for the growth of the Western Balkans, which will bring the region closer to the West.

European Commission president has also announced that she had a phone call with the head of the government of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, this morning for the tension situation in the north of Kosovo.
In a post on Twitter, the senior official clarified the conversation with Kurti, underlining that she emphasized the urgent need for de-escalation of the situation and for the normalization of relations with Serbia.
Further she announced that she will also have a phone call with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.
“I spoke with Albin Kurti this morning. I emphasized the urgent need for de-escalation and return to the EU-facilitated dialogue for the normalization of relations with Serbia. I will talk to President Vucic later today,” she said.
