Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vučić said that he “expects a lot of trouble and problems in Kosovo” but did not specify any further.
Vučić made the comments during the Vidovdan celebration in Belgrade.
“I don’t know how things will go with Kosovo. They are trying to break and destroy our country from within,” Vučić said at a gathering organized by the Serbian Progressive Party, of which he has been the leader until recently.
The Serbian President’s son Danilo Vučić was also spotted in Graçanica this Wednesday, with a shirt that read “Surrendering is not an option”.

This time too, nationalist inscriptions were seen on the T-shirts of many young Serbs with messages such as “We will not give away the cradle of Serbia”.
The citizens gathered in Graçanica dispersed after the end of the liturgy in the monastery.
Vidovdan is a religious holiday observed by the Serbian Orthodox Church, commemorating the suffering of Serbs in the battle against the Turkish army in Kosovo in 1389.
Serbian Patriarch Porfirije participated in a memorial service in Graçanica, Kosovo.
He called on everyone to “contribute to peace in Kosovo”, and urged the Serbs of Kosovo to “set an example for everyone” with their actions.
In the northern part of Kosovo, where the majority population is Serbian, tensions have been high since the end of May.
Serbs there have been protesting against Albanian mayors of municipalities and demanding the withdrawal of the special unit of the Kosovo Police.
Tensions have escalated into violent clashes between Serbian protesters and NATO’s KFOR mission troops.
There have also been reports of grenade attacks and other incidents.
Both Kosovo and Serbia have blamed each other for the situation.
Traditionally, Serbs celebrate Vidovdan at Gazimestan, about 10 kilometers outside Pristina.
However, this year, the Diocese of Raška and Prizren of the Serbian Orthodox Church announced that on June 28 – due to the deteriorating security situation in Kosovo – the Vidovdan commemorations would take place at the Graçanica Monastery instead of Gazimestan.
