Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said that 13 signed agreements have been sent to Kosovo and he expects his counterpart Albin Kurti to confirm that their scheduled meeting will take place later in the day.
Rama referred to the 13 agreements that were supposed to be signed during the joint meeting of the two governments in Gjakova on June 14, a meeting cancelled by Rama due to tensions in northern Kosovo.
“I remain hopeful that after the expressed public concern by Prime Minister Kurti for the citizens prevented from benefiting from the 13 agreements, we will also have confirmation of the meeting with Albin later this afternoon,” Rama wrote on Twitter.

Rama will stay in Kosovo on Thursday as part of a two-day Balkan tour aimed at informing the regional states about Albania’s preparations for hosting the Berlin Process summit.
On 5 July, Kosovar Prime Minister Albin Kurti proposed to Rama a joint meeting of the two governments, during which the agreements “that have been agreed and are in the drawers” should be signed, and thus “implement all of them as soon as possible”.
“For me, it is necessary to have the joint meeting of the two governments. If the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, insists on cancelling the joint meeting, then I will stick to the position I have stated regarding our meetings. We have direct contact; we meet very often. If you look at the past two years, while we have been in government, I have had a dozen meetings with Prime Minister Rama. The Kosovo-Albania relationship does not waver if the Prime Ministers of Kosovo and Albania don’t meet. It’s because our joint meetings have been unreasonably cancelled,” Kurti said.
According to the published agenda, Rama will first stay in Skopje, where he will meet with state leaders. He will then proceed to Pristina to meet with the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, and the Speaker of Parliament, Glauk Konjufca.
Meanwhile, on Friday, he will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Serbia.
