The Appeals Court against Crime and Corruption in Albania has sentenced El Salih Ibrahim Lekica to 2 years and 8 months in prison.

The 57-year-old from Kukës was arrested in May last year, charged with terrorist propaganda and incitement to violence.

According to the investigations, the 57-year-old made calls on social networks for serious terrorist acts.

His posts on the social network Facebook contained references to the terrorist organization ISIS.

He also called on citizens to support the war in Syria and carry out attacks against Israel.

Lekica was arrested by anti-terrorism experts of the police, a few days before the final match of the Conference League took place in Tirana.

Initially, the prosecution sought a 5.4-year prison sentence for Lekica, but the first instance court and ultimately the Appeals Court decided to halve the sentence for the 57-year-old.
