The Albanian Superliga will kick off in August, and in the new season, a new format will also be applied.

The Football Federation of Albania (FSHF) has announced that the top tier of Albanian football which starts on August 19, will no longer function under the old format, but will introduce changes that only affect the teams fighting for the title.

The first Superliga match will be played on August 19, and the competition will continue until May 11 of the following year.

The executive committee has approved the format change, where the number of teams playing in the league will remain the same, consisting of 10 teams.

The last two teams in the ranking list will be relegated automatically, and the 8th ranked team will have a last chance in the play-out.

Regarding the title race, the top 4 teams on the table will compete against each other after the completion of 4 phases.

Their points will be reset, and 3 matches will be played.

The team with the most points will be declared the champion.

If two teams in the final 4 finish off the season with equal points, then their ranking throughout the 36 weeks will be considered.

The first category of football will start in September, and the Super Cup is scheduled for December 20.

Despite entering the new football season, a solution for the broadcasting of the championship has yet to be found.
