“Meteoalb” meteorologist Lajda Porja warned during an interview with Good Morning Albanians on Euronews Albania that temperatures this week will reach new records.

While Monday is expected to register temperatures as high as 40ºC, a blazing 43ºC will be registered during Tuesday.

According to the meteorologist, this will be the peak of the third heatwave that has conquered Southeastern Europe.

Shkodra, Lushnja, Fier, Berat, Elbasan and Gjirokastra are the cities expected to register some of the highest temperatures, whereas the coastal areas are expected to experience cooler values.

Everything will change after Wednesday, Porja warns, with temperatures immediately decreasing by at least five degrees.
