The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, reacted after the decision of the Special Prosecutor’s Office to seize the incinerator of Tirana.

Through a post on Twitter, Veliaj states that “the seizure and removal from the hands of the private entity of the Tirana waste plant as a result of SACS’s investigations is more than welcome in the way of clarifying the illegal activity of anyone who has abused to the detriment of the public’s interest”.

Veliaj has responded to the opposition’s accusations of involvement in the Tirana incinerator affair, while emphasizing that the municipality of Tirana will continue working for a Tirana, which according to him is today a mirror of purity.

“The sequestration and removal from the hands of the private entity of the waste plant in Tirana as a result of Special Anti-Corruption Structure’s investigations is quite welcome in the way of clarifying the illegal activity of anyone who has abused in the public interest. Meanwhile, the municipality of Tirana will continue without stopping the work for a Tirana that today is a mirror of purity also as a result of the transformation of Sharrë from an urban cancer to a sanitary field with the appropriate environmental standards. Time works for Tirana and European Albania, not for the candles of Non-Grata, which will be extinguished”, says Veliaj.
