The suspects in the stabbing murder of Luljeta Preza, whose lifeless body was found under the Dajlani Bridge in Durrës on the morning of August 2, have been arrested.
Aldo Brahimi, 22 years old, a resident of Lushnje, and Ylli Grabovari, 45 years old, a resident of Durrës, are suspected of killing the 32-year-old after a dispute over trivial motives.
According to the police, the perpetrators and the victim had consumed cocaine, and the whole murder scene was witnessed by three girls, one of whom is only 15 years old.
In their testimony before the investigative group, the perpetrators said that they had a conflict with the 32-year-old because she had refused to give them all the money she had earned from her sex work.
“We have known each other for months. We got into an argument because she did not give us the money she had collected. She had an accident some time ago and spent the money at the hospital. We combined the money we collected, the girls, and ourselves with what we earned by begging on the streets,” the perpetrators said.
The two men were part of a group involved in the distribution of narcotics in the city, while the 32-year-old had long lost contact with her family, as she lived with the two killers and three female friends who are now under investigation.
The two arrested individuals are charged with the criminal offense of “intentional murder” committed in cooperation, while the three witnessing girls will face criminal proceedings for failure to report the crime.
The murder of Luljeta Preza uncovered another case of prostitution exploitation.
Following the proceedings in the state of being at large for “failure to report a crime” of a 15-year-old girl who was present when Preza was stabbed to death by citizens Aldo Ibrahimi and Ylli Grabovari, the latter has confessed to investigators that she was being exploited for prostitution by her partner.
After the testimony of the minor, the Durrës police arrested citizen E. P., 24 years old, in flagrante delicto.
Meanwhile, the procedural materials against them were forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Durrës for further actions.
