The 2,500-year history of Butrint National Park tells about the Albanian roots through the remaining architecture.
At the peak of the tourist season, thousands of foreign vacationers are heading to the archaeological park to get to know the history of Butrint.
“It’s a beautiful site, I absolutely loved it, I especially liked the theater part, I was impressed that it was all well maintained and in a very good condition, it’s all amazing and the nature is very beautiful”, says a tourist.
For a Spanish vacationer, the magic lies in the buildings that can convey to the visitors the life of the past.
The combination of thousands of years of history with nature is one of the main reasons that attracts curious visitors to Butrint.
“We didn’t know much about Albania and your culture, and we read some books before coming here. We visited Gjirokastra, Ksamil… Here we like that history and nature are so beautifully intertwined because usually somewhere you either find culture or nature”, says another.
Butrint National Archaeological Park remains one of the most visited tourist destinations in the country. The national treasure preserved by UNESCO in these weeks is visited by an average of 800 people a day.
