Folk On in Sarandë, concert brings together polyphonic songs and southern areas’ dances

Polyphonic songs and dances characteristic of the southern areas have been brought together in Saranda through Folk On. The concert gathered thousands of vacationers who enjoy Albanian songs and dances.

“The promotion of tourism in Albania is a project financed by the World Bank and the Albanian Development Fund, which is normally for the part of promoting tourism, where there is better than the cultural values ​​that our folklore has to promote both to Albanians and to foreigners, let’s promote not only Saranda of the sea, but also Saranda of culture, this thing that is unique only to the south”, said organizer Redis Matka.

Presentation of Albanian tradition through such a concert has included all ages. From the professionals of the labe song to the youngest, who proudly dance the dances passed from generation to generation.

“Very important because it conveys our tradition which continues through the generations because it is a very important and very special tradition that is not found in any country in the world, it is exciting”, said a citizen.

“Tonight we will perform the dance of Osman Taka, this is a cultural tradition of the village of Konispol which is followed year after year. It is a very beautiful dance, it has a very beautiful story that for me evokes many emotions”.

The concert that unfolds the values ​​of Albanian culture comes in the middle of the tourist season, to show vacationers Saranda not only the sea.

“Yes I like very much “very beautiful” it is very nice to be here and to see the concert is very exciting, I am from Sweden, me and my girlfriend came here for vacation and we liked it very much, it is very nice for tourists”.

The presentation of Albanian tradition and culture, in all its dimensions, has been the focus of Saranda during this tourist season.
