Two Albanians, 24 and 29 years old, were arrested in Italy for cocaine trafficking in the village of Limito. Italian media reports that the arrested Damiano Maiolo and Tritan Leika were part of the “Ndragheta” criminal network.
It is said that Leika had another 10 months and 28 days of unpaid prison time for drug trafficking. The police searched their houses with anti-drug dogs, where they found 10,500 euros in cash and 130 grams of cocaine packed in doses ready for sale. Tools for preparing cocaine doses and stolen objects were also found in their homes.
This investigation began before December 2022 and led to the arrest of dozens of people, members of this criminal network. Another person linked to Cosa Nostra from Enna was also arrested and an attempt by the gang to influence municipal elections was discovered, thankfully without success.
