The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla was in Vlora, where Redin Çaushaj is in the Regional Hospital, the officer who intervened to stop a fight in Himara and ended up injured.

He stated that the operative’s operation lasted from 1:30 am until dawn, while he congratulated the doctors for their dedication.

According to Balla, the injuries have already been recovered and he took the opportunity to thank the 25-year-old’s colleagues who donated blood.

“I believe that at this hour of the day we are in conditions where we can all feel calmer. Not only me, as the Minister of the Interior, not only Ermali as the head of the police, but also the family members with whom I have just talked and now we can have the last communication for today related to the fact that the situation is stabilized and we are out of danger for life,” said Balla.

Balla warned once again that whoever tries to raise a hand against a police officer will face a harsh reaction, much more than what the Criminal Code provides.

According to him, if you hit a policeman, you hit the state and the state will act with all its power to protect the dignity of the officers. In this particular case, Balla publicly asked the Prosecutor’s Office of Vlora to investigate the incident in detail and to give an exemplary sentence to 60-year-old Theodhori Merkuri.
