Prime Minister Edi Rama gave an interview to La Stampa where he described the Italian counterpart as anything but a fascist.
He said that the perception that Giorgia Meloni executes a fascist policy is wrong and that she has never been wrong in the line of international politics since the first day in power.
The Prime Minister affirmed that there is a friendship in addition to cooperation in the political part, while he indicated that during Melon’s visit to Albania, they had talked about many things, including international relations and European integration.
Rama explained to La Stampa that Tony Blair had not been with them and that he left the morning when Meloni arrived in Albania.
Among other things, the Prime Minister spoke about a viral video on TikTok where some Italian tourists leave a restaurant in Berat without paying.
“When I told Giorgia about it she laughed. Everyone laughed and then she said to the ambassador ‘go pay the bill for those fools please and make a statement. Italy cannot lose respect like this,” Rama said.
“There are so many things we are waiting t complete. Soon, the Strategic Committee for Italian Investments, created with Di Maio, will meet for the second time. We talked about the water pipeline project, which Andreotti and Berlusconi already wanted, from Albania to Puglia. That would be important. It is about using the resources in the south of Albania to connect them with Italy. Then there is the management of the railway network in the Balkans, which needs to be developed. Finally, technology: Italian companies have shown interest in the past. And the electric line project that will connect Italy with Albania. She is someone who can move things, I have a lot of faith,” added Rama.
Prime Minister also specified that left or right are definitions that do not necessarily conflict with political ideas and that does not affect his conversations with his friend and counterpart Giorgia Meloni.
