The Greek Foreign Ministry has commented on the rejection of the request for release of the elected mayor of Himarë Municipality, Fredi Beleri.
According to them, such a decision is against the principles of the rule of law.
In the announcement of the Foreign Ministry, it is stated that the Albanian authorities are not respecting the law.
The Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime has imprisoned the elected mayor of Himarë Fredi Beleri.
This Monday, the elected mayor of Himarë, Fredi Beleri, appeared himself in the special court where the request for his release presented earlier by his lawyers was examined.
We remind that Beleri has been in custody since May 12 of this year after he was arrested for buying the votes of 8 citizens for 40,000 ALL. Since then, there have been many protests for his release.
