A hearing is held in the hospital premises to determine the measure of security against 17-year-old Elio Rraku, suspected of causing the car accident where two Italian tourists lost their lives in Sarandë.

The reason for holding the session in the hospital is the fact that the minor continues to be under the care of doctors. The prosecutor of the case, Esmeranda Basho, requested the appointment of the security measure “Arrest in prison” for the criminal offenses “violation of traffic rules” when the death or serious injury of several persons was caused by the criminal offense and “driving the vehicle in an irregular manner.”

Lawyer of the minor, Çlirim Shahini, asked for a lighter security measure with the argument that Rraku is a minor, a student and traumatized, as well as to be closer to the family due to his psychological condition.

At the end of the session, Judge Suela Xhani decided the security measure “Arrest in prison” until the end of the investigations.
